Rest and Digest- Reset!

Have you heard of the fight or flight response? Think about a time in your life when you dealt with a stressful situation... You might even be able to think of a stressful moment that has happened since waking up this morning! Did you notice anything happening with your body? Stress can increase our heart rate, and blood sugar levels. It can also suppress the function of our digestive, immune, and reproductive systems. This response is controlled by our Sympathetic Nervous System. We also have a Parasympathic Nervous System. We often refer to this as the "Rest and Digest" system.
